Features of Window Factory Activities

In the Ukrainian building materials market, uPVC windows have long enjoyed good demand. These products are characterized by durable construction made of strong materials, boasting an attractive appearance and good sound insulation. The cost of uPVC windows remains affordable for most and is cheaper compared to wooden or aluminum options.

During the emergence of Euro windows in Ukraine (early 90s), the sale of such products brought an average profit of 150-200%. The increase in the number of manufacturers significantly influenced price drops. Today, the profit from retail sales of uPVC windows does not exceed 25%, while dealer supplies reach only up to 12%.

The high level of competition in the market defines a competitive pricing policy. Our window factory, "Osnova," focuses on selling quality products at affordable prices for customers with varying income levels.

Do window prices change depending on the season

The demand for uPVC windows is seasonal. Typically, the product is most sought after in spring and early autumn. In summer, demand slightly decreases, and in winter, it's considerably lower compared to peak seasons. Hence, manufacturers offer the biggest discounts during these periods. Buying discounted products in winter can be a great way to save on overall construction costs.

Many are deterred by the misconception that windows cannot be installed in cold weather. The main installation rules involve the absence of strong winds, with the outside air temperature not lower than -15°C. Special foam used for sealing gaps is not affected by frost. The removal of the old construction and the installation of the new one takes no more than 30 minutes, minimizing room cooling.

Reasons for varying prices for identical windows in different companies

Lower prices are mainly observed in small workshops, but the quality of the products sometimes raises doubts. Increased prices are not always justified. In the market, there are numerous dishonest firms selling goods with standard characteristics and attributing "mythical" advantages to them, thus inflating the price on the receipt. The optimal window purchase is usually at an average cost.

The pricing policy of the product depends on the brand, profile system features, glazing, and components used. Products that may appear identical visually will differ in many properties, have different sets of options, and consequently, have different costs.

Is a discount of 50% or more from the initial price possible for windows

In practice, the maximum available discount for uPVC windows should not exceed 30-35%. For a company that offers even more, production becomes unprofitable.

If a company offers to buy windows at half the price, the buyer should be cautious. Such schemes are particularly common among scammers selling cheap goods under the guise of quality. When signing a contract with a company, attention should be paid to the specification section, which details the product brand, profile, and other specifics.

How window measurement can affect the product's cost

It's impossible to consider all details when ordering goods over the phone. Customers are advised to be prepared for the final cost to change, and the supplier must justify this.

Several reasons can lead to an increase in the previously agreed price after measurements:

  • The need for additional profiles for proper installation.
  • Mistakes made by the customer in calculations and providing incorrect sizes over the phone.
  • Lifting the construction requiring additional costs.
  • Problems encountered during window installation.

The price of services may increase if the customer decides to adjust the previously compiled specification (choosing a different brand, including additional sets of options, etc.).

Why manufacturers have different warranty terms

Any reputable window factory or company signs a contract with the customer, including a separate section on warranty obligations. Within the specified period, the customer has the right to contact the supplier in case of quality and installation-related claims.

The operational life of uPVC windows exceeds the warranty period. By law, PVC products have a warranty of up to two years. Some companies may extend this period to 5-7 years if they are confident in the high quality of their products.

Window supply: why the agreed term may be disrupted

Window delivery may be delayed if there are technical difficulties in production. This is possible when manufacturing large-sized structures or those with non-standard shapes.

Delays often occur during peak seasons when teams have to complete several orders a day. The agreed delivery term for uPVC windows can shift by several days.

Production of double-glazed units at the OSNOVA factory

Double-glazed units are a crucial part of any glazing, as 75% of a window is made up of the double-glazed unit.

Many window manufacturers order double-glazed units. However, at the OSNOVA factory, there's a significant advantage - a fully equipped workshop for specialized double-glazed unit production, ensuring the highest quality.
